The PIP serving jug for water and other cold drinks is designed for easy opening and closure using one hand. The functionality of the lid’s construction originated from a game of origami. This is a process that often inspires the designer, Søren Refsgaard in the initial phase of his design process. The shape of the spout and the movement of the open/close function are reminiscent of the beak of a hungry bird – hence the slightly humorous name ‘PIP’ (Danish for ‘tweet’).
